Saturday 29th March 2008: The Grand Opening

Come along to see the shop, and be one of the first to sample its Fairtrade coffee and other goodies. If you also fancy a late breakfast, bacon butties will be available - first come - first served!Following the official opening Refreshed will be open six days a week, from Monday through to Saturday between 11am and 4pm.
Refreshed? What's it all about?
"Refreshed" is about making a space where the communities of Swain House, Bolton Woods and Wrose can get together. The charity shop will provide a much needed service to the local community - a place to be and a place to share together. It is the first steps on a ladder which will lead to a re-vamped community building in Wrose which will provide much needed facilities for the whole of the community to enjoy and benefit from. The driving force behind Refreshed is Bolton Villas URC. This well established church has been on the site on the corner of Livingstone Road and Wrose Road for over a century and is looking to place itself as the hub of the community, allowing its building to become "a community space with a spiritual heart".
Can I help? Donations and Volunteering?
A charity shop in the local community doesn't run itself! It needs people just like you to make it work - so what can you do? Well first, we need you to donate clothing or other things you don't use ~ what about that unused Christmas present? We have people already on stand-by to drop round and collect things from you if necessary - so you don't even have to leave the house!
Secondly, if you are fit and able, and have some time on your hands we'd love for you to get involved in helping run the shop. There are lots of jobs that need to be done and by offering some time each week you can become part of the team that makes the shop happen. You will need to complete a short application form and if accepted go through some basic training but its not difficult. Just get in touch by email or via the address below.
